Setting Our Services

Fosse Surveying is a Professional Land and Measured Building Survey Company based in the East Midlands.

What is a Setting Out Service?

A setting out service is a key part of the preparation on any construction site. It is the process of transferring the building plan onto the land using precisely set out points and markers for features such as excavation, foundations, balance ponds, kerbs and path edges, services, site drainage and new boundaries.

Fosse Surveying offers a variety of setting out services from the initial site visit through to the checking of the final work and producing as-built drawings of the site area.

When is a Setting Out Service needed?

The importance of setting out is necessary for all construction projects that will need to be carried out within a strict boundary, such as

  • Existing building extensions
  • Any type of construction (from a small house to a retail park or a tall building)
  • Tunnels, bridges, and roads

Many small developments overlook the importance of setting out correctly, believing that it is an unnecessary expense. Numerous incidents have been reported of incorrect, inaccurate setting out, costing developers a tall sum, because road layouts, plot positions, and drainage layouts had to be adapted as the development wasn’t feasible.

How can our Setting Out Service benefit you?

It will allow you to ensure all plans are true to the land and that they fall correctly within the land boundaries to prevent any boundary disputes down the line.

They will also provide an accurate guide for construction workers to follow.

As a result of this service, the risk of inaccurate construction will be reduced and eliminated

Having to revisit a site is time-consuming and expensive, so this saves time and budget.

The technology we use for this service is high-quality, proven, and well-known, making it the best in the industry.
